Instructional Design & E-learning Certificate


The Certificate curriculum will be comprised of two compressed, universally designed courses that students complete online in a single semester. Each course will be comprised of 4 learning modules and will require approximately 20 hours to complete. In both courses, students will learn key terminology, concepts, models, systems, and applications related to instructional design. Research-based theories and information, case studies, and assignments will be implemented in each course.

Justification:
More than half of all US workers actively seek advancement in their present field (PricewaterhouseCooper, 2021). Additionally, an increasing number of companies and organizations desire to upskill or reskill employees to sustain business growth and secure success. The time is ripe to launch an online certificate program that provides individuals with an opportunity to learn valuable skillsets and to earn a credential for career advancement. This certificate has multidisciplinary applicability. A number of disciplines and organizations, from public education to healthcare, rely increasingly on in-house training and development of employees. From onboarding (orientation) to continuing education, inhouse training is essential to a growing number of sectors. The courses that comprise this certificate address how to design innovative training/learning opportunities for diverse learners in a wide range of settings.
