The accelerated AS Nursing program permits the qualifying nursing student to complete the AS Nursing program in 16 months. These students attend classes year round to complete the program earlier. Candidates for this program have additional admission requirements including completion of 14 credits of specific pre-requisites an overall GPA of 3.0 and a composite score of 65 or higher on the ATI TEAS exam. The curriculum includes a balance of nursing and non-nursing courses. Nursing courses are designed to provide learning opportunities for acquiring the necessary nursing knowledge and skill to practice nursing at the associate degree level. The focus is holistic health promotion and wellness.
Upon successful completion of the associate degree program in nursing, the graduate is eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam - RN (NCLEX-RN). Successful completion of this examination allows the graduate to apply for licensure as a registered nurse.
