The two-year sonography program prepares individuals for careers in diagnostic medical sonography, focusing on the use of ultrasound technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Graduates are equipped to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, imaging centers, physician offices, and outpatient clinics. The curriculum offers a balanced combination of sonography-specific and general education courses. Students must achieve a grade of “C” or better in all required general studies and sonography courses. The sonography courses are designed to provide comprehensive learning experiences that develop the technical skills, clinical judgment, and professional competencies needed for entry-level practice in diagnostic medical sonography. Emphasis is placed on anatomy, physiology, patient care, and image interpretation, with a strong focus on accurate data collection and holistic patient interaction. All support courses must be completed before or concurrently with the curriculum course sequence as outlined in the catalog. Once admitted to the program, all sonography (SONO) coursework must be completed within a three (3) year period.
