The Bluefield State Marching Band, known as the “Blue Soul Marching Band” is the largest and most noted performance ensemble on campus. The band performs for all BSU home football games, home basketball games, the homecoming parade and various events around the university and the Bluefield community. The ensembles consist of music minors as well as students majoring in various disciplines throughout the University who meet 3-4 hrs weekly to practice and prepare for the performances.

The University Marching Band performs a wide range of original band compositions, various arrangements of popular tunes, historic Marches, and chorales, all in which represents different musical styles, and periods.
