Students examine the definition of applied research and the various research methods. This course’s primary outcome is completing a detailed research plan and an evidence-based project proposal. Emphasis is placed upon selecting appropriate applied research questions and topics, developing a literature review (based on background research), developing applied research techniques, conducting an applied SWOT analysis, defining criteria for interpreting primary quantitative and qualitative data, employing applied research in organizational decision-making, and assessing the ethics of the proposed research.
