Designed as an independent study, approved NASC 498 projects culminate in professional written, oral, and poster presentations. This is the Capstone course for the Applied Science Majors. Students gain bench research experience in the laboratories of program faculty located on BSC’s main campus.
Course credit usually equates into 40-45 hours of research activity and 30 hours of research training per credit hour. Independent Laboratory Research courses involve hands-on benchwork and laboratory techniques that are non-clinical in nature. (1 credit lecture and 2 credits laboratory hours). Since the nature of NASC 499L research projects is individual for each student, this course shall have a different CRN for each student. Independent Study.
