Allied Health Education, B.S.

Academic Plan of Study

The Bachelor of Science Allied Health Education is a 120-credit hour program that will provide students with an interdisciplinary degree option encompassing a variety of allied health topics.  This degree will aid those who wish to seek jobs as health educators, administrators, patient advocates, and community health workers, in a variety of healthcare settings.  The curriculum is designed as a 2+2 program, with the ability to create a career ladder from 2 year Community and Technical College Associate degree programs.  Once the Associate of Science degree is earned and professional licensure obtained, students may choose to enter the workforce and continue on to the baccalaureate level.  Students with no allied health background may enter the program in the 4 year traditional track.

Applicants must meet general education development (GED) requirements or have a high school diploma, and have an overall grade point average of at least 2.0. Applicants must have also successfully completed the following minimum high school curricular unit requirements: 4 units of English, 3 units of Social Studies, 4 units of Mathematics (Algebra I and higher), 3 units of Laboratory Science, 1 unit of Arts, and Foreign Language.
