HONR 205 - Great Books II Lecture Hour(s): 3 Lab Hour(s): 0 Credit Hour(s): 3
This intensive survey course is designed to introduce students to the philosophical, theological, and literary traditions associated with Western Civilization from the Early Modern period to the present, especially as they are represented in influential “Great Books” curricula. Key ideas from each text under study will be defined and examined for the development of a critical vocabulary to be used for textual analysis and critique, as well as relating texts to their broader historical and intellectual contexts. This course is specifically restricted to and required for students enrolled in the Honors College program. Course satisfies the General Studies arts/humanities requirement.
Prerequisite(s): HONR 102 or ENGL 102
