Lecture: Medicinal Chemistry is a chemistry-based discipline and stimulating field as it links many scientific disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physiology to the design of new drugs for treating disease. Students will learn organic chemistry aspects of drug design and development. This course also introduces various classes of drugs, the concepts of MAO (mechanism of action or mode of action), SAR (structure-activity relationships), and ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) profiles.
