This is the first of a two semester laboratory sequence aimed at addressing classical and state-of-the-art laboratory techniques in biochemistry. This laboratory course is designed to complement the corequisite lecture course by illustrating in a concrete way some of the basic methods used to study the molecules and processes found in living organisms. This course is designed to foster skills in proper laboratory practice and record keeping, the use of biochemical instrumentation, the proper design, analysis and interpretation of experimental results, and the effective communication of the results through written reports and oral presentations.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 302 Corequisite(s): CHEM 440 or permission of the instructor.
